Johanna Peet Nicotra is a entrepreneur, lawyer, and consultant for founders and early-stage startups. She founded Grape Studios, a creative practice to help founding teams launch, grow, and scale their businesses.






About


Born and raised in Delaware, Johanna believes small businesses and entrepreneurs have the power to create a better, more equitable world. As a consultant, Johanna works with mission-driven companies and entrepreneurs on brand stategy, product development, e-commerce operations, marketing, and social impact strategies.

Johanna is also an Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner and works with clients 1:1. IFS (Internal Family Systems) is an evidence-based psychotherapy model and framework for understanding our inner parts and transformative healing. In 2024-2025, she worked directly with founder and President Dick Schwartz and his vision to bring IFS to leaders and collective systems.

She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, young daughter, and large collection of teas and plants. 




Previous work


Previously, Johanna was the CEO and founder of Peet Rivko, a unisex, clean skincare line featuring low maitenance, plant-based formualations for sensitive skin. Committed to building a more inclusive and sustainable beauty industry, Peet Rivko developed a cult following among clean beauty enthusiasts and was featured in The New York Times, GQ, NYLON, and Refinery29.

She also co-founded Tio y Tia, a line of hats made by the oldest hat maker in America and profiled in Vogue, GOOP, and NY Magazine.

Johanna began her career in foreign policy working on a range of policy issues including human rights, counterterrorism and refugee law at the Brookings Institution, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, ACLU, and the U.S. State Department.

She has a JD/MBA from New York University and a MA from the University of Amsterdam where she was a Fulbright Scholar. She also received a BA from the University of Virginia, where she studied Political & Social Thought as a Jefferson Scholar.
